At E3 2015 Sony revealed a new role-playing action game, Horizon Zero Dawn by Guerrilla Games. Sony shed further light on the game at E3 2016 in June, so here we round up the rumours surrounding the Horizon Zero Dawn UK release date, price and gameplay details. Horizon Zero Dawn UK release date: When is Horizon Zero Dawn coming out?

Although the game has been in development since 2011, Sony isn't set to release Horizon Zero Dawn until 28 February 2017. That's a delay from the original '2016' release date touted whenthe game was unveiled last year.

When revealing that the game was delayed, managing director at Guerrila Games Hermen Hulst said: "It wasn't an easy choice to make; we know many of you have been anxious to play the game since we first announced it. However, we also want to ensure that Horizon Zero Dawn lives up to the visuals and gameplay quality that our games are known for. The new date affords us the extra time required to deliver fully on our ambitious vision for Horizon Zero Dawn."

Horizon Zero Dawn UK price: How much will Horizon Zero Dawn cost?

Although Sony hasn’t announced a price, you can pre-order the game on Amazon for £44. Amazon's pre-order price guarantee means that if the price drops between now and the final release date you will pay the lower price.

There's also a collector's edition which includes a copy of the game in a Steelbook case, along with a 9in statue of Aloy, a 48-page art book, a PS4 theme and some in-game content. It's only listed on Amazon US at the moment priced at $119.

Horizon Zero Dawn gameplay

E3 2016 gave us a good look at the gameplay for Horizon Zero Dawn during an impressive demonstration by Guerilla, which you can watch below.

The game is set 1,000 years into the future, and shows that robotic creatures have taken control and humans are no longer the dominant species on earth. Most of the human species have been wiped out, with some still alive and living in small colonies and fighting to survive.

In Horizon Zero Dawn you play as female protagonist Aloy, a young outcast from her tribe. Aloy has learned how to hunt the creatures and sets on a quest that leads her to her destiny.

Aloys main weapon is a bow and arrow, and she carries three types of arrows that will help her defeat the creatures – electrical, explosive and armour-piercing. When Aloy runs out of ammo, or needs a new weapon, she has a unique ability that allows her to create weapons with machine parts from the creatures, along with natural materials found on earth.
